Remembered for Life Project

Donating organs and tissues is a compassionate and heroic act. It is confidential until family members choose to make it public; WRTC will not acknowledge a donation without permission.  If a family would like to recognize their loved one's "gift of life," WRTC can help.  Many find that honoring their loved one's donation can assist in the grieving process.  Remembered for Life acknowledgements can be provided for visitation hours or the memorial service at no cost to the family or funeral director. Call WRTC's donor family advocates at 1-866-BeA-Donor for more information.

A Framed Remembrance for Display

The framed remembrance will be personalized with the loved one's name. It is then the family's to keep following the service.

Donate Life Items

Donate Life pins and green bracelets are recognized symbols of donation awareness, reflecting the many lives saved and enhanced through the gifts bestowed. They are provided in a basket, and the pin could also be placed on the loved one's clothing or casket lining.

Donation Information

Brochures are available to share information about organ and tissue donation and how one donor can make a difference in the lives of so many.

Obituary Acknowledgment

Another way to publicly honor donation is to include a line in the obituary, such as "Mary's generous spirit lives on through organ and tissue donation." Funeral directors can assist with the wording and arrangements.

"Lillian's mom wears her green bracelet everywhere.  I keep mine in my mandolin case and wear it whenever I'm playing.  People do ask about its significance, and we are able to share Lillian's donation story."
