Your mission
Create a video no longer than 2 minutes with the following theme "Encourage people in your community to become organ, eye and tissue donors." Including ALL of the elements below, fiction or nonfiction, in English, Spanish or Spanglish.
-- Explore and debunk one or more myths and misconceptions that surround organ, eye and tissue donation. (i.e. "I am too old to be a donor", or "the doctors will not try to save my life if i'm an organ donor").
-- Explore and explain the facts and statistics (i.e. "More than 115,000 people await a life-saving gift").
-- Create a call to action (i.e. "Organ donation gives hope and saves lives. Sign up today at www.BeADonor.org").

Rules and Eligibility
All students must be a graduating senior in high school or college student in the D.C. metro area to participate. All participants must ALL competition rules. entrants will be disqualified if there are no citations, if the video is longer than 2 minutes, if it is not original, or if the submission is late.

Judging Criteria
Panel of Judges (90%) - All videos will be judged based on video quality, creativity and originality, effective communication of myth(s) and fact(s), persuasiveness to take action and register, adherence to competition topic, and use of and citation of correct information.
Public Voting (10%) - Public voting entails the number of "likes" and comments your video received on Facebook from April 15 - April 30, 2013. Scholarship winners only will be notified on or about May 15th, 2013.
Additional information
The videos will be judged by an advisory panel consisting of judges selected from interested WRTC volunteers and staff members. WRTC will have 2 Flip cameras available for students that don't have access to a video camera. Students will be required to sign a document that will ask them to return the camera in the same condition it was provided. WRTC has a student guidebook online WRTC guide
PRIVACY POLICY
Washington Regional Transplant Community (WRTC) does not collect personal information from website visitors (e.g., www.BeADonor.org or www.donante.org ). Numerical data (e.g. number of visitors to the website or a particular page) are collected for statistical purposes only. Students who submit video entries will not be enrolled to receive extraneous emails and/or solicitations of any sort. Only scholarship winners will be contacted by the staff of WRTC. Scholarship recipients should note that their name, home town, high school, college institution the student plans to atteend, prize amount and winning video will be listed on WRTC's website and may also be used in other promotional materials (e.g., in WRTC newsletters, press materials and on the Done Vida Scholarship Facebook page). Any photos submitted by the students or taken during an official in-person presentation of the scholarship may also be included in WRTC promotional materials.
