Amanda Balmer

AMANDA’S SONG BY LOUISE ROHAN

My name is Amanda; You may think that I was weak.
But I came here for a purpose, a selfless legacy to seek.

Although I wasn't perfect, some would say that I was flawed,
But that fact that I came here should make you feel awed.

I simply was a miracle sent from Heaven up above,
To show some people here on earth the true meaning of love.

Although I was tiny and couldn't stay very long,
Inside of my strong heart was a victorious song.

God gave me to parents both as special as he,
To show people on earth just how blessed they can be.

I'll give life to some other small children like me,
Whose mommies and daddies are trying hard to see;

Why their baby was born into love with no hope,
To a life and a future trying hard to just cope.

But you see I am special, I was chosen to be,
A living gift sent from Heaven delivered by me.

I needed a mommy more precious than gold
To make sure I was cared for till my story was told.

Till my mission was finished and my time here all through,
And I returned back to Heaven to wait there for you.

God blessed me so richly with my Dad and Mom.
Please remember I said this after I'm gone.

God told me to say this and among other stuff
To remember the butterfly has just time enough.

The symbol of eternity representing our change,
Measures time but in moments so don't find it strange,

That my time spent here with you though brief it may be
Will be even more special throughout all eternity.

We will all be together, a family again,
Though I don't know just how and I don't know just when.

I only know God had a mission for me.
I came and fulfilled it and I hope you can see;

That now like the butterfly; my soul is set free.
